Moving Day – Where the heck are the dishes?

Moving day can be one of the most stressful days imaginable. After packing literally for weeks and then getting up early to meet the movers, you start off exhausted. Now add the stress of keeping the kids and the pets in sight while the movers empty the house. Then pile everyone in the car for the drive to the new home, and hope it takes less than the anticipated six hours.

By the time the truck is at the house and the movers are unloading the kids are so antsy they can’t be still. The pets are frantic and you just want to make the place look organized enough so you can find your toothbrush before bedtime.  Have you been in this situation as well?

My best friend showed up around dinner time with a gift basket. The picnic began and I can’t even begin to say how much it meant to me to not have to find the silverware and plates and try to make something. The fridge was empty anyway, we just moved! Thank heavens for that basket of food. What a nice way to congratulate us on our new home.
